Classification, Labelling and Packaging (CLP) Changes

For essential oils in candles and wax melts

Penlanlas Cymru Soaps is committed to the safe and proper use of the pure essential oils used in our Candles and Wax Melts and is fully compliant with CLP, the regulations that apply to all products made in the European Union. With the recent changes to Classification, Labelling and Packaging of substances and mixtures regulations, we have added warning symbols to our labels.

As with all home fragrance products, if used correctly and carefully, no harm should occur. The CLP information is to simply warn and inform our customers of any potential dangers, however unlikely, in relation to the oils used in our products.

Our CLP Labels and what they mean

An example of our CLP labelling is shown on this page. Here is further information about the warning symbols and wording and what they mean.

Harmful to aquatic life with long lasting effects

As with any product containing essential oils, you should not drop our candles or wax melts into an aquarium, pond or other body of water containing aquatic life. Fragrance and essential oils are generally fine to be used in households with pets; however if you have birds, aquatics or exotics, we recommend that you burn/use our products in a separate room as these animals have very sensitive respiratory systems.

May cause an allergic skin reaction

As with any product containing essential oils, customers with sensitive skin should take care when handling our wax melts or candles.

General precautions

Keep all home fragrance products away from pets or children. Do not rub your eyes after handling our home fragrance products.
